Richard attended St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast from 1989 to 1996 where he obtained is GCE O’ level and GCE A ’level certificates. He graduated from the University of Ghana in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and English. In 2015, he was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree, in Marketing by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He obtained Project Management Professional (PMP) a certification in 2011.
Richard’s entrepreneurial exploits started upon the completion of his national service in 2004 after his selection to participate in the Graduate Enterprise Programme sponsored by the World Bank and organised by EMPRETEC Ghana. His first venture was Restor Foods, a drink processing business, that he ran from 2005 to 2007. It was among the first to bottle Bissap under certification by the Ghana Standards Board at the time.

He joined the Australian Trade Commission in 2009 as Business Development Manager, Francophone West Africa, a post he held until June 2013. This role saw him promote Australian businesses especially within the mining sector in the Francophone markets of West Africa. One of his achievements was organising a Trade Mission of Australian mining services companies to Ghana and Burkina Faso, with the latter being his foremost responsibility.

Richard with his two brothers co-founded appsNmobile Solutions Limited in 2015 which started from their father’s garage at North Legon, Accra. appsNmobile has grown within the past 9 years from the three founders to a staff strength of 52 currently. The Company has emerged as a leading financial technology firm providing solutions in mainly payments, software development and other value-added services.

Richard is driven by passion for excellence and a great desire to solve problems. He plays a leading role as CEO by getting involved in the design and development of some of the market-first solutions that appsNmobile is known for. He also led the company in its first capital raising in 2021 when it raised $1 million from venture capital firm Oasis Africa Venture Capital Ltd. Richard is married to Judith Bansah and they have two children – Lem and Ese.
